My service in SHS started in 1989 and over the past 18 years , I have witnessed the changes and challenges that have marked her journey in providing education , with its basis from biblical principles as well as MOE’s initiatives and directions and global development that seeks to steer us to scale greater heights.
Here in SHS, we are ignited with the passion and a vision to provide a wholesome education that encompasses the depth and breadth of academic excellence, skills and abilities that will equip the students to participate and contribute to the society and beyond the shores of our island Nation. We give thanks to God for the stewardship that has been entrusted to us to impact lives for citizenry.
The vision that God had envisioned Graham White is encapsulated in our upward and forward move to develop programmes that will produce distinctive God fearing Hildans with a penchant for living and learning.
In the literary works of William Shakespeare “As You Like It”, the world renown literary giant penned: All the world is a stage and all the men and women merely players.Yes, the world is a stage , one which is dynamic and fluid. To partake in this dynamic world, education holds the key. It unlocks our existence into a world of knowledge and information beyond time and space. With space age technology , we are inhabitants of a “ shrinking world” , and I firmly believe that teachers are key players on this world stage and we have the power to shape and mould lives for meaningful and constructive existence. As proverbs 22:6 declares :Train up a child in the way he should go , when he is old , he will not turn away from it.
As we journey into the future, let us unite and live the motto : Go Forward. Once a Hildan , Always a Hildan ! In His Service,
Sarah Yew (Ms) Vice-Principal
