PRIME

The school is currently under-going PRIME (Programme for Rebuilding and Improving Existing Schools). Work started in November 2008 and is scheduled to complete by May 2011. When completed, the school would have a new 3-storey Student Activity Complex, housing a covered parade square, covered play courts, a multi-purpose hall, a competition indoor sports hall, a standard indoor sports hall (for St Hilda's Primary School), and Singapore's first roof-top international-sized hockey pitch.

The Student Activity Complex will add more learning and interaction spaces for our pupils to work and learn together, as well as support the niche programmes of volleyball and hockey in the secondary and primary schools respectively. By co-sharing the indoor sports halls with the public, the larger community around the school will also benefit from this project.

Other facilities to support 21st century learning will include school-wide wireless internet access and a new library with a study area on the mezzanine floor, and co-located with the staff room will help to enhance pupils' learning. A beautiful Outdoor Learning Garden will entice pupils to explore science, art, and design & technology amidst the greenery.

The upgraded Counselling Room, Parent Support and Alumni Room, and Student Activity Room will enhance the social-emotional support for pupils' holistic development.

The project will cost about $36 million, and the school will need to raise about $2.3 million. Our consultants and contractor have been mandated to build an upgraded St Hilda's Secondary School that they would want to send their children to. Similarly, we appeal to you to consider if you would partner us in giving generously to this project, as though your children, and your children's children, would become beneficiaries of your kindness.

Thank you for your partnership!
